well, but really, there isn't anything to do if you don't have work. it just doesn't balance out your life. how do you know rest when you never get busy or tired?

it's funny course i finally finally finally...after like 2 years or something, have ONE FREE SATURDAY! and what did i do? i went BOWLING!!!! it's been forever since i did any sports besides watching them on TV. it was a good chance to flex some muscles. so after carl's jr for lunch, we went the alley at marina square to hit some pins. it was fun while it lasted, and i won both games by a whisker! woooosh!

then, we got bored, so we went for coffee. hahaha...we always go for coffee. it's nice to just sit and relax and have some coffee. chit chat or play cards or just play the games in our handphones.

sunday was also pretty boring. really didn't know how to spend the time. i mean, yeah, it was good quality time that we hardly ever have, but still, it's quite hard to just walk around with nothing in mind and trying not to spend money. so we just ate, went window shopping and once again, drink coffee. well, i had tea. later on, we went hmv to check out vcds/dvds and i bought the last emperor dvd. watched it when i came home. i dunno how many times i've watched this film.

and so, i woke up late today, and went causeway point with my sis. thought i should at least spend ONE day at home and not go out all the time. rented 3 dvds - the devil wears prada (again!), curse of the golden flower (again!) and x-men the last stand (AGAIN!!!). yes, i can watch a movie more than once (think: the sound of music...at least 20 times).

so yap! i'm all set for 1 more day of slacking. and i must stop spending so much. i've been keeping track of my expenses and boy, it ain't pretty. shall set a budget for my spending for next month. survival of the fittest! i need a fit wallet! wahahaha...

wait-and-see VS act-and-defend

oh my, what a busy couple of days. i'll just skip the rubbish and jump straight ahead.

met up with the cj gals - TT, KT, yeok and ja over at j8 yesterday (or the day before rather). ah man, it's been dinosaur years since i went j8. i use to live and breathe there. it "used to be my playground", to quote madonna. well, at least when i still lived in bishan for about 10 years. it's so different now. geez...i kinda didn't know my way around. haha...we had din tai fung and then went coffee bean and chit chat as usual lah. dropped such a bomb at them, i think they want more than a piece of me now. heehee...sorry gals! =)

so anyway, despite my busy and hectic schedule of meeting people and running errands and god-knows-wat i have been doing and spending my "free time", i've had time to ponder over stuff.

we all know trouble when we see one. well, at least i can.

disclaimer: it's just a thought (u know, as usual i have to ward off those evil spirits).

well, a lot of things in life are the same as being ill. when you have a little running nose or a throat irritation, there are 2 ways of going about it.

1. the passive wait-and-see approach.

2. the aggressive act-and-defend AKA prevention is better than cure approach.

sometimes, i wonder if i should just sit back, and go with the flow and see what happens. this approach has a lot to do with trust, faith and hope. a lot of it is hope, very much like a gamble. that's the minus point though, that you're taking a risk.

if i decide to act on something, even with nothing conclusive, i am being defensive and proactive. there are the plus points such as prevention (no matter short term or long term) and a scare tactic for the enemy at hand. then again, most of the time, it doesn't nip the issue at the butt. AND...how long can u stay in this defensive mode? it does gets tiring ya know?

so yah loh...life is such a dilemma. u really can't say for sure what is right or wrong. everything is right, and everything is wrong. but whatever is right may be wrong and whatever is wrong may be right.

i'm confusing a lot of people now, but i know you'll get it sometime, someday.

maybe there are ways to wait-and-see while acting-and-defending?

i'm quite tired.

i just spent who-knows-how-many hours setting up my wireless router. blarrrrdy hell...took me so long. dun ask why, i quite irritated by a lot of these configuration shit. sometimes, u love technology...and sometimes, u just hate em.

so FINALLY i had it set up!

grrrrr...

anyway, chinese new year hasn't been particularly great because i've not been well yet. yesh...i spent the first 2 days of CNY plus the eve coughing my lungs out and hardly speaking coz i had absolutely no voice...or very little to speak of. so i couldn't or didn't dare to eat the goodies. and that makes me a bit cranky. i also didn't have enough sleep coz i'll either by up coughing or i stayed out till pretty late.

i know i shouldn't, but it's so hard to meet up with people, even when we have sunday, monday and tuesday. funny, the more we have these days, the more likely we stay out coz next day dun need to work or go to school mah.

wat sial...

now it's 2 weeks and i haven't recovered.

anyway, i finally met shirley rabbit at vivocity today. woah...it's been donkey months man, coz she was in HK all these time.

as i was saying, we had, or rather I had lunch at the white dog cafe. it's pretty nice and quiet. i dun understand why nobody goes there. nice view too. den we went walk walk, and i bought the new router, a game and a new mouse. hehehe..used steffie's challenger membership, so quite alright lah. we went daiso too and got some goodies for my mum and some other household stuff for myself.

ya lah, turning auntie already...

went cedele after that and tasted heavenly punpkin soup for the first time. it's pretty yummy...and huge. bought tissue at guardian coz i used up my 3 packets already, and panadol cold. then left to meet my dad at hougang mall. had to go visiting again lah. alright lah, talked to my aunties and uncles. i dunno why but i always talk to the elders and never the youngsters like my cousins. all these years, still the same. i really dunno why. hehehe...

YA LAH! i auntie lah....

so that's another 8 days to go for my break. actually...come to think of it, it's not THAT long. it's just longer than most people. hahaha...

no...i refuse to be auntie. other people thought i was the youngest among the 3 of us sisters loh. wahahahaha....i take it as a compliment, thank you.

i didn't really celebrate v-day cause i was at work, but i did have a nice dinner at MC and advanced v-day pressie. those are damn nice Royce chocs lah! diya first introduced them to me during one bleak recording period...hahahaha....and i fell in love with them. so yes...happy happy happy....thanks darling!

i am really looking forward to the break. intended to go BKK but it's pretty steep now and i have no company. must think carefully if i can afford it without breaking my bank. in any case, i can always slack, go shopping, manicure, meet friends and...find things to do? oh man!

Gettin' ready for CNY!

i've been a busy little bee.

waaaaaaaait a minute....make that a busy SICK little bee.

you know, i'd be much happier if i had a fever for 3 days and then get well. but nooo...i had fever for only 1 pathetic night, so much so the doc didn't even bother prescribing me panadol. he just told me to take the panadol i had at home (if presuming, i had panadol, which i did). so i'm now left with antibiotics and flu tablets to swallow only.

oh, the pity!

for the uninitiated, i enjoy getting sick coz i hardly do. and i like to eat meds. yes, i am weird.

still coughing and having a running nose. i hate these kinda illness...it's too trivial for my liking and far too irritating. it's annoying when you are sick but you're not THAT sick.

so yah, i abstained from harsh foods for 2 days and i was back to junking on fast foods, spicy stuff and whatever i'm not supposed to eat. I...DON'T...CARE!!! =p

so anyway, CNY is just a week away, so back to the point of my post, i've been busy preparing for one of my favourite holidays. went to alter my dress which i bought from Bangkok but never got a chance to wear (decided to save money and not buy something when i have something i haven't worn...considered new then!). i bought a pair of shoes to match it today. it's a light cream white peep-toe high heel. don't think i'll get a new bag unless i do see one.

digress...it was so weird. i went PS and vivocity today and i couldn't find a thing. went to causeway and i went into shopping frenzy, came home with 5-6 bags! think it's a matter of focus. you can do so much in 2 hours!

back to CNY stuff...went ikea a couple of days back to get new bedsheets. shall change them 2 days before CNY to keep it nice and clean. also got some stuff to do my spring cleaning. lucky me, my dad did half the work already coz he repainted my room and so, cleaned half my room at the same time. amongst the crap i bought, i got this cute (and ridiculous-looking) turqoise rubber gloves to do spring cleaning. i look like an alien. hahaha, tried to scare my rabbit with those rubber gloves. he was just a little startled. damn!

so yeah, i mopped and wiped and cleaned my room!!!

one last thing to get...new pyjamas. my mum has this thing that we MUST have new pyjamas. so...must go pyjammies-hunting!

and finally...i have fallen sick!

just a cold...sniffles and a little sore throat. unfortunately...yes, u heard me right...unfortunately, it's nothing serious. i guess i'll be fine in a few days, preferably before CNY.

so anyway, lemme recount my week so far.

met stef on monday after sooo long. we had jap lunchie at this place at far east which served some really good jap food, but HORRID service!!! haha...but after a while, it became pretty entertaining to see the uncle snap at his customers! wahahaha...it's addictive. the food is really good lah. guess it makes up for the horrible service.

then we had coffee and talked and talked and talked. it's always so good to talk to stef (and shirley if she could be around...=() we can talk about anything and everything. had such a great time!!! love u babe! meet up again soon yah?!?!

dat's about the only other significant thing that happened lah. oh yes, daren won superstar. and singapore won the asean cup! but i guess so many people have been talking about it, so i'll just keep my thoughts to myself for once. for once...hahaha!

i've had some problems logging in ever since i converted my blogger to the new version or whatever it's called. somehow, i just managed.

so just a quick one.

looks like i won't be that rotten broke after all. got year-end bonus, so that should cushion me a bit for this month while i pay up all my debts and bills. still, i tend to overdo is so i must keep reminding myself not to spend unnecessarily. and in order for that to happen, i have created a spreadsheet to keep my finances in check. currently depleting quite a bit, coz of the repayment of debts and bills lah. i still hardly spend...which is good i guess.

did think of going for a little holiday. i would have loved to go bangkok for my seasonal retreat, but nobody to go with. plus, i think if i went on a holiday, especially to bangkok (to stock up my clothes and accessories), i would deplete whatever funds i have or have decided to save. so nah...if i do go anywhere, it'll be somewhere near to relax...or the best out-of-mainland experience...SENTOSA. hahahahaha....

about bangkok, i actually would love to be there for the 2nd leg of the Asean cup. thailand VS singapore. i know, it may be a bit dangerous with the security threats and being minority and all, but if i could, i would still go. but i can't.

on that note, i won't be going to PSS finals too. still, i'll be rooting for diya and daren...ok, more DIYA coz she my jie mei! and i'll be flipping channels between the asean cup match and the finals. hahahaha...woot~~~

and about diya...SHE GOT THE PINK PSP FROM THE SPONSORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bah...yes yes, i know tony will say it's nice and he would've got the pink PSP if he was a girl, but he's not. so no pink PSP for him.
